Canyoning, or mountaineering, or canyoneering, whatever you want to call it, is undertaken in the nearby canyon known as the Garganta Verde and also at the Garganta de la Hermita (hermitage). The canyon can be reached by taking the CA-531 three km (1.8 miles) south in the direction of Grazalema. From there, a marked trail leads east to the watery depression. Aventerra guides trips with the ropes, life-jackets and helmets you’ll want and need to tackle Garganta Verde. A day-trip costs 50 Euro. Horizon and Ocio Natural in Grazalema also make the same route.
